Congratulations to our GFL 6th Grade and 7th Grade FBU Teams on WINNING the 2019 FBU CHAMPIONSHIP

A Message from the GFL Board - May 20th

On advice of our legal counsel, all GFL conditioning and workouts are hereby POSTPONED until June 25th, 2020. The decision to allow resuming conditioning and workouts will be made in conjunction with our legal counsel and our medical advisory team. This decision to postpone early conditioning and workouts does not affect or alter our current plan to start the 2020 Season as scheduled. Further updates will be made as they develop. Our focus is the HEALTH & SAFETY of our youth. The current conditions and restrictions being imposed on us are not manageable at this time. We have the responsibility to enforce the restrictions and medical guidelines from our medical advisory team and our governing bodies. The magnitude and complexity of these restrictions and guidelines are not manageable by any of our member associations. This decision to postpone was made to protect the health and safety of EVERYONE!! We are in communication with our medical advisory team and will continue to follow their advice as changes are constantly being made. We will continue to keep you updated. We ask that everyone remain patient as we navigate through these uncertain times. Changes are being made daily and we, along with our medical team, remain confident that we will be able to start our 2020 season as scheduled. Thank you for your continued understanding as we adjust to the circumstances beyond our control!! We remain committed to the health and safety of our GFL Family!!

A Message from the GFL Board

To our GFL Family: First and foremost, we hope everyone is well and safe. As we all continue to deal with these unprecedented times, we want everyone to know that the GFL Board has been working diligently to prepare for the upcoming GFL season. Our planning is the same as any other GFL season, but with the addition of how to keep the GFL Family safe as we look towards our upcoming season. The safety of the GFL spectators and athletes are of upmost importance.

The GFL. along with Northside Hospital Sports Medicine’s team, is in the process of looking at what safety measures can be implemented to ensure we are doing our part to try and keep everyone safe and well. All of this is of course contingent on Gwinnett County opening the parks, and any other national, state, or local restrictions put in place. Keep in mind that this is a fluid situation, so restrictions may be put in place that require the GFL to make some changes to the way practices or games are handled. While we fully expect to play a regular season, we have to also be prepared that adjustments may be needed. We will continue to update our GFL Family as soon as updates become available.

Thank you all for your continued support of the GFL. In the meantime, we ask everyone to be patient as we navigate through these uncertain times. We are committed to our mission to provide our youth a safe, fun and enjoyable outlet through football and cheerleading. We look forward to being back together and on the field soon.
